Quite often when we put a dollar in the offering plate we have no idea what the result of that money will be and unfortunately we usually never find out unless it is used inside our church.  I received an exciting report this morning about how the money that comes into your offering plate that you entrust to the Baptist State Convention is helping change lives in New York City.

Won Kwak is the church planter and pastor of Maranatha Grace Church in Fort Lee, NJ.  This past Sunday, Maranatha baptized 10 new adult believers at its baptismal worship gathering.  God is working in a powerful way in Fort Lee through Won and the other Christ followers in the church.  So what does this have to do with your CP dollars?  Maranatha is one of the 5 church plants that North Carolina Baptists partnered with in 2010 in New York City.  NC Baptists are committed to expanding the Kingdom of God in the major urban cities of the Northeast and Eastern Canada.

How can you make your church continue to impact the Kingdom?  Continue to support the Cooperative Program with your missions giving.  Consider “adopting” a church planter like Won Kwak through prayer, strategic partnership, or financially that they may have a greater impact in New York City.  Develop a missions strategy that seeks to plant a church in a major urban city in North America or Canada that, like Maranatha can bring hope to those who are lost.  For more information on how your church can be equipped to live out the Great Commission contact Michael Sowers at msowers@ncbaptist.org or visit www.ncbaptist.org/gcp.
